Demanding autonomous Madhes, cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front torched a government office and a vehicle in Rajbiraj, Saptari, today.

The demonstrators set Rajbiraj-based Land Conservation Office on fire today.

A group of seven to eight protesters vandalized the office along with the furniture and set it ablaze. Furniture and documents among other important items were damaged in the blaze.

Meanwhile, the staff of the office said further damage to the office was prevented as the windows and doors were closed during the destruction.

Likewise, the agitating cadres of MDF also set a vehicle belonging to District Education Office on fire in Rajbiraj of Saptari today.

The office jeep was parked on the premises of the office when demonstrators set it on fire. It is said that important parts of the vehicle was damaged completely in the blaze. Police said the protesters had fled after setting the vehicle on fire.
