UDMF disrupts meeting called to fix Rautahat voting centres

RAUTAHAT: The United Democratic Madhesi Front on Sunday disrupted a meeting held by the Rautahat District Election Office to fix voting centres for the local level elections.

Subsequently, the meeting being held in the district headquarters Gaur was postponed.

The central leadership of the alliance of agitating Madhes-centric parties has announced to oppose the elections and foil all activities related to them.

Acting Chief District Officer Anuj Bhandari, who was chairing the meeting, said the meeting was postponed after the UDMF representatives said they would not let any activity for polls happen in the district.

The leaders said the polls could not be held unless the structure of local levels was not revised on the basis of population density.

District Election Officer Rajan Shreevastav, Armed Police Force SP Bhagawan Malla, Nepal Army Colonel Raju Karki and representatives of political parties had attended the meeting.
