RAUTAHAT: Leaders of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Wednesday staged demonstration at Dharkhan Chowk of Gaur Municipality in Rautahat by burning the copies of newly promulgated constitution of Nepal.

Saying that the Madhesi people would never accept the constitution which was promulgated by bulldozing the aspirations of many people, the leaders warned that they would burn the copies of new constitution over and over again in the future.

Later, personnel from the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force chased the demonstrators away.

The UDMF has been staging demonstrations in various Tarai districts for the past one-and-a-half month protesting the number and boundaries of provinces in the constitution.
