BIRGUNJ: The agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front, on Tuesday evening, organised a torch rally in Birgunj of Parsa district against the government's decision to hold the local level elections on May 14.

In the rally, UDMF cadres demanded that the Constitution be amended before the local polls.

The rally started from Ghantaghar and went around the city, chanting anti-government slogans.

The torch rally was a symbolic protest, UDMF Birgunj co-ordinator Purushottam Jha said.
