UDMF to continue border blockade

BHOJPUR: The agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Monday decided to continue border-centric protest programmes.

A meeting of the Front held in Biratnagar of Morang today decided to intensify protests. The border-centric protests had been bit relaxed during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals.

"The border blockade is a form of non-cooperation movement," Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Madav told journalists after the meeting, "We will continue it with more preparation."

Yadav was hopeful that the protests would get stronger now with participation of people from other communities including Limbuwan and Magarat.

The leader also claimed that the government was not serious for talks and it ignored demands of the agitating parties.

He accused the government of failing to present its clear views on demands of the Madhesi parties.

Besides Yadav, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Chairman Mahendra Yadav and other leaders of the UDMF constituents were present at the meeting.
