KATHMANDU: The main opposition CPN-UML on Sunday decided to form election publicity committees at provincial, district and local levels.

The Local Level Elections Central Coordination and Monitoring Committee headed by party General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel made the decision to form such committees by April 20.

The committees would incorporate media personnel, intellectuals and experts, according to the UML Secretary and Chief of the party's Publicity Department Yogesh Bhattarai.

Meanwhile, the meeting also directed local committees of the party to conduct training programmes on legal and technical aspects of the local level elections.

The Coordination and Monitoring Committee shall meet next on April 19.
