KATHMANDU: CPN-UML politburo member Bijay Poudel on Thursday resigned from his position on moral grounds after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority began investigations against him.  Poudel tendered his resignation at the party office. Poudel said that he resigned to help CIAA carry out a fair investigation.
