UML leader Yadav in judicial custody on murder charge

JANAKPURDHAM: The Dhanusha District Court on Friday sent CPN-UML alternative politburo member and former lawmaker Yog Narayan Yadav to the judicial custody in connection to a murder case.

A single bench of district judge Rajendra Kumar Acharya also sent Durga Sah to the custody over the same case.

Two persons - Ram Sewak Raut and Ram Prakash Yadav - were killed in a violent clash during an election of a school management committee in Sabaila village of the district around a year ago and Yadav is accused of masterminding the murders.

The UML leader had been on the run ever since the two were murdered.

The Court was hearing on the case since Monday.

After the verdict, police took both Yadav and Sah to Siraja District Prison.

Police had arrested him from in front of the UML headquarters in Kathmandu on March 30.

Meanwhile, hearing on an arms and ammunition case against Yadav was still underway.
