BIRATNAGAR:  The main opposition CPN-UML and the ruling Nepal Loktantrik Forum have forged coalition in the posts of mayor and deputy mayor in Biratnagar Metropolitan City for local level elections scheduled for June 28.

As per the agreement, Bijaya Kumar Gacchadar-led Forum Loktantrik will support the UML's mayoral candidate Binod Dhakal while UML will support Forum Loktantrik's candidate to the post of deputy mayor, said Loktantrik Forum's district chair Bhaktinath Majhi.

However, Loktantrik Forum is yet to fix its candidate for the deputy mayor.

According to Majhi, the coalition was only in mayoral and deputy mayor posts adding that they did not have any agreements regarding any posts in wards.
