UML meet decides to intensify stir

Kathmandu, November 16:

The three-day national gathering of the CPN-UML cadres concluded here today. The meet emphasised on the need to intensify the joint people’s movement launched by seven-party alliance for the restoration of democracy. The meeting also endorsed the decision of the party’s ninth central committee meeting held about three months ago.

The meet called upon the agitating parties to adopt the policy of “democratic republic” as the King had rejected constitutional monarchy and started direct rule.

A press statement at the end of the gathering said the party’s two-month-long awareness campaign had been highly fruitful. The meet also condemned the government for issuing the Media Ordinance and NGOs’ Code of Conduct. Addressing a press meet today, Bamdev Gautam admitted having held meeting with Maoist high command.
