UML raps government for not doing enough to curb violence
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel has accused the government of not taking the initiatives for curbing the acts of violence in the run-up to the elections.
Addressing an interaction programme with the election candidates of the leftist progressive alliance from Kathmandu district today, leader Pokharel demanded that the government carry out an impartial investigation into these incidents that have taken place in various districts and book the culprits.
The interaction was organised by the Press Chautari and the Press Centre Nepal.
He said a government of the leftist alliance was necessary in the country to bring economic prosperity along with a stable government long cherished by the people.
The UML general secretary urged the voters to vote for the leftist alliance candidates in the House of Representatives and State Assemblies elections on December 7.
