BIRATNAGAR: Newly elected chairman of the CPN-UML-aligned Nepal Youth Association Mahesh Basnet on Thursday said his organisation would retaliate the anarchic activities of the Young Communist League (YCL) — youth wing of the Unified CPN-Maoist.

Basnet, who was elected yesterday to lead the youth outfit by its seventh general convention held in Lahan of Siraha, told mediapersons in Biratnagar that he would physically retaliate against the high-handedness of the YCL. Claiming that the new leadership would achieve high during its tenure, he vowed to work to ensure employment of the youth, not only those affiliated with his party, but all of them across the country. “We will also press for the timely drafting of the statute and contribute voluntarily for the attainment of our goals.”
