KATHMANDU: Newly elected Speaker Onsari Gharti has said the unanimous election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker has given a message of unity in the Nepali politics.

Talking to the media while emerging from the Legislature-Parliament upon her nomination to the post of Speaker on Friday evening, Gharti, who earlier served as the Deputy Speaker, said she took the election as a symbol of triumph of Nepali people's decade-long struggle for their rights.

She further insisted on the polity of unity to enforce the Constitution and lead the country towards prosperity.
