Unified Congress in a month: KC

Kathmandu, June 2:

Leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC), Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) and NC (Democratic) today organised a tea party at the Birendra International Convention Centre, New Baneshwor, with the objective of building a genial relationship between the two parties and accelerating the unification process.

“The reception was organised mainly to bring leaders of both the parties in one place, develop a sense of brotherly attitude and pave the way for reunification,” Omkar Shrestha, one of the main organisers of the reception, said.

NC leader Arjun Narsingh KC said: “Since everything has been sorted out, the two parties will get united in a month.” NC (D) vice-president Gopal Man Shrestha stressed on the unification between the two parties. “The unified Nepali Congress should take the peace process to a logical conclusion,” he said.

NC (D) leader Sarad Singh Bhandari, who is close to founder member of the NC Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, said the two parties should be unified before the election to a constituent assembly.
