UDMF cadres demonstrate in Gaur, disrupt RPP's meeting

RAUTAHAT:  The United Democratic Madhesi Front staged a demonstration outside the District Election Office in Gaur on Tuesday, demanding to make and amendment to the Constitution and revoke the new local level structure.

The cadres of Madhesi parties gathered outside the District Election Office at 9:30 am as per the UDMF's agitation schedule.

Federal Socialist Forum Nepal's central member Rewanta Jha ,  Sadbhawana Party Joint General Secretary Ajay Gupta, Nepal Sadbhawana Party's central member Anil Singh addressed the UDMF cadres.

They claimed that the recently created local bodies have discriminated the Madhesis.

They said their parties will not take part in the elections unless their demands are addressed.

RPP targeted

Meanwhile, tension ran high in Gaur Municipality building after the police used force to disperse the UDMF cadres who disrupted a district-level meeting of the ruling Rastriya Prajatantra Party in Gaur Municipality.

The UDMF cadres barged into the Municipality building and resorted to vandalism.

After learning that the RPP leaders went to the party's local leader Satyendra Singh's residence in Gaur-8 to continue their meeting, the UDMF cadres marched towards the area.

Security personnel of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force are trying to prevent the protesters from reaching there.
