DHANGADHI, APRIL 29

As many as eleven people have succumbed to coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours in Sudur Paschim Province on Thursday.

Out of the eleven deceased persons, six persons were from Kailali, three from Kanchanpur and one each from Aacham and Bajhang districts respectively.

According to the Seti Provincial Hospital's Spokesperson Dilip Kumar Shrestha, one of the deceased was a 45-year-old woman from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis. She died after 12 hours of testing positive for the virus on Thursday.

Another 33 year-old male was being treated in the ICU but passed away today itself. Shrestha informed that another 60 year-old man also died on Thursday in the hospital during treatment.

Information Officer of District Administrative Office Kailali, Shivaraj Joshi shared that an 87 year-old woman succumbed to the disease at her home in isolation.

Three persons have also lost their lives while receiving treatment against the infection in Mahakali hospital, informed the COVID-19 focal person Dr Govinda Rokaya.

Another 21-year old youth and 36-year-old woman both hailing from Bhimdutta Municipality, and 30-year-old man of Mahakali Municipality succumbed to the infection today, Dr Rokaya shared.

The second wave of Coronavirus has aseverely affected the hilly districts of Aacham and Bajhang districts in the province -- one casualty each was reported from the district today.
