‘Upgradation of Biratnagar Airport soon’

Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai said upgradation of Biratnagar Airport would start soon.

Talking with the team that reached Kathmandu from Biratnagar to press for upgradation of the airport today, Bhattarai said work on airport construction would start soon.

A member of the team, Punya Bhattarai, said the minister assured that airport upgradation work would start from this year as 95 per cent work on detailed project report had been completed.

A pressure group led by federal lawmaker Shiva Kumar Mandal had reached Kathmandu from Biratnagar to press the government for upgradation of Biratnagar Airport.

Minister Bhattarai said the provincial and federal governments would jointly construct the airport.
