KATHMANDU, APRIL 16
United States Ambassador to Nepal, Dean Thompson, visited northern Gorkha on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Rajendra Bajgain, elected Member of Parliament from Gorkha-1.
During the visit, Ambassador Thompson toured Sama Village, Samdo, and Barpak in Chumnurbi Rural Municipality.
House of Representatives member, Bajgain, took to Facebook to announce, "I, along with US Ambassador Dean Thompson and the delegation, are on an inspection tour of Northern Gorkha including Samdo, my electoral district and Manaslu Conservation Area."
During the visit, Ambassador Thompson engaged with locals, discussing the impact of climate change in the Himalayan region and tourism development prospects in the Manaslu area. Bajgain added that they also explored prospects for tourism development in the Manaslu area.
He also mentioned that Ambassador Thompson and the delegation were scheduled to inspect Gorkha Darbar, a symbol of mythology and courage.
