KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 17

US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu for a two-day trip, today.

Assitant Secretary Lu will meet government leaders including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and visit cultural heritage sites during his visit.

Lu, who was scheduled to travel Male and Kathmandu, had reached Male on Monday.

Similarly, Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, Kelly Keiderling is also set to arrive here on Thursday.

Her meeting with Nepali officials and emerging civil society leaders has been set upon arrival.

Their visit comes just ahead of the 75th year of diplomatic relations between the United States and Nepal.

As part of US President Biden's top priority, they will address challenges and issues including COVID-19, climate change, and strengthening democracies.
