SURKHET: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli called construction of tunnel with tunnel boring machine historic.

Addressing a programme organised to announce the breakthrough in tunnel construction in Chiple, of Surkhet’s Bheriganga on Tuesday, the PM extended thanks to the envoys of the US and China for constructing and using the machine. “Bheri-Babai Multi-purpose Diversion Project is a national pride project and the government is committed to move this project ahead as a model project and complete the remaining work as soon as possible,” said Oli.

At the programme, energy minister Barshaman Pun said that completion of the tunnel project well ahead of the deadline has given positive message to one and all.

Karnali Province Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi stressed the need for people of Karnali to benefit from the project.
