Various forces at work to make Nepal Communist Party (NCP) a failure: Dahal

Chitwan, October 28

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said that different forces were at work to make his party a failure.

Addressing a programme organised by his party in Bharatpur, Chitwan, Dahal reiterated that attempts were being made to make NCP a failure ever since the then CPN-UML and CPN-Maoists Centre forged an alliance and contested the polls.

“When we floated the idea of party unity, efforts were made to foil the alliance and unity. Various attempts from within the country and outside the country were made to weaken and thwart the party unity,” Dahal recalled.

He said sincere commitment and dedication had led to the unification of the two largest communist parties. He said unification of the then two parties would be completed at the lower level within a few days. “Final preparations are on to finalise party unity at province, district levels and  of sister organisations, “ Dahal noted.

Dahal said no force could destroy the achievements made through sacrifices of thousands and struggle of the millions in the country.

Dahal said an era of development had started in the country. He said the country had been able to maintain good and relations with both the neighbours after the formation of the new government.  “Relations with the two neighbours hold great significance for Nepal’s development and stability and the government has been able to do so,” Dahal added.

Dahal defended the government and said that the government had done many things but their outcome had yet to be seen.

At the programme, General Secretary of NCP Bishnu Poudel argued that physical and human developments should be taken simultaneously. Poudel stressed the need to ensure development, prosperity and social justice for the establishment of socialism.
