RAUTAHAT: Vice-president Paramananda Jha today said former king Gyanendra Shah must be thanked for his recent remarks, which have motivated political parties to focus on constitution drafting.

Talking to media persons prior to inaugurating the Shree Bishnu Maha Yagya at Prempur Gonahi VDC, Vice President Jha said the remarks by the former king have helped political parties, who were busy playing power game, to wake up.

Stating that the monarchy cannot be revived in the country, Jha said, “People are the supreme decision makers.”

Jha underscored the need for commitment from the political parties to promulgate the statute by May 28 and said that parties better concentrate to do so.

Vice-president Jha also performed puja at local Bishnu-Laxmi temple.
