DIPAYAL: Vegetable farming started by women in various village of Doti district has stopped their husbands from going abroad for job, of late.

Most of the men of Ladagada VDC in the district used to migrate to India frequently to earn living.

However, after their wives began commercial vegetable farming, many things has changed.

The vegetable farming has improved financial condition of people in the village.

Local Kamala Kunjeda informed that her husband used to earn Rs 10,000 to 15,000 per year while working in India. However, with the sale of vegetables, has been able to earn Rs 40,000 per year in her own place.

Husbands are also happy by the work of their wives.

''If you know the right method you can earn in your own place. I was a servant in Mumbai, but here I am the owner,'' stated Harka Kunjeda, another local of the place.

Likewise, Dal Bahadur Saud, who used to work as a guard in Mumbai for the past 15 years, was unable even to change the roof of his house with his earning. However, after the vegetable farming, he has been able to put new zinc sheets to roof his house as well as to send his children to good schools.

Before the practice of vegetable farming, the condition of family was poor; but now everything is running smoothly, said Saud's wife.
