Vehicles torched for defying bandh

The cadres of Pallo Kirant Rastriya Limbuwan Manch set ablaze two vehicles in Sunsari this morning for defying the indefinite strike called in Limbuwan region to protest the arrest of its cadres.
The organisation called the indefinite Koshi closure to protest the arrest of its cadres four days ago while they were collecting donations forcefully in Sunsari’s Panchakanya.
The cadres torched the two vehicles on Sunsari’s Dharan-Bhedetar section and Tarahara section of the Koshi highway, respectively, according to the police.
DSP Dipak Thapa of District Police Office, Sunsari, said the Pallo Kirant cadres set ablaze a mini truck while it was heading for Dhankuta carrying cement and iron rods at Bhedetar. The truck was completely damaged.
DSP Thapa said the strike organisers took a passenger van from Tarahara in Sunsari district while it was heading to Itahari with passengers and torched it after asking the passengers to alight.
The van was completely damaged, District Police Office, Sunsari, said.
