Victims’ kin shut down Tikapur demanding arrest of murderer

TIKAPUR: The victim’s kin of 21-year-old Karna Thapa who was murdered during Holi Festival on Thursday have shut down Tikapur Bazaar demanding actions against those involved in murder.

The protesters have staged a sit in and burnt tyres in front of Area Police Office Tikapur saying that the police have not been able to arrest the murderer.

Thapa was stabbed to death while he was attending a mass gathering to celebrate Holi Festival on March 1, 2018.

However, the police are yet to establish a cause for Thapa’s murder and make arrests despite taking 15 persons into custody for investigation.

“We have more than 15 suspects in custody,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Tika Bahadur Karki said, “We will nab the murderer soon.”

As of now, Thapa’s dead body remains at Tikapur Hospital Morgue after his kin denied to perform last rites unless police arrests the murderer.
