'Village industry' will be established in every local level: Thapa

MYAGDI: Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Thammaya Thapa, has said that the government should establish industries in rural areas for the prosperity of the country.

Minister Thapa, who arrived for the first time after after being appointed as the Minister, said so at a news conference organised by the Myagdi chapter of Press Chautari Nepal in Beni today.

On the occasion, Thapa said that the government has decided to establish 'village industry' in every local level to achieve country's prosperity through the utilisation of local means, resources and skill.

Minister Thapa said, "The government has the responsibility to create employment in the country by ending the trend of overseas employment as thousands of youths have been compelled to go for overseas employment every day."

Stating that the incumbent government has put country's prosperity, good governance and development on top priority, she claimed that the government would carry out activities to make people feel it.

On a different note, Minister Thapa expressed commitment to take possible initiative for the development of Myagdi district as the district has immense possibility in tourism, hydropower, agriculture and herb sectors.
