Phidim, August 10:

One person was killed and another critically injured in a clash between inebriated villagers at Patle Bhanjyang in Panchthar last night.

Thirty-seven-year-old Nayendra Tumrok, alias Kamal, of Shiva VDC-1 was killed while 34-year-old Panchabir Tumrok of ward no 4 of the same VDC was hurt after a group led by Yubaraj Lamichhane Magar stabbed them during a clash between residents of Shiva VDC ward nos 4 and 1.

Deputy superintendent of police at the Panchthar district police office Mukti Shrestha said one of the seven attackers has been taken into custody.

Nayendra died on the spot while Panchabir has been admitted to the Panchthar Hospital for treatment.
