Violent clash between NC-NCP cadres in Sarlahi; NC cadre shot dead

RAUTAHAT: A cadre of Nepali Congress was shot dead following an episode of violent clash between cadres of Nepali Congress and ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in Ramnagar Rural Municipality of Sarlahi district.

Ram Bilas Mahato was shot at around 8:00 am this morning. Seven others were injured in the incident.

On Monday, NCP (NCP) cadres had attacked ward chair Ram Naresh Mahato over some political rift after which a clash ensued between cadres of both the parties. The shooting incident happened in the wake of this incident.

The deceased was ward chair Mahato’s uncle.

According to Superintendent of Police Poshraj Pokhrel, police is searching for those involved in the shooting incident.

The injured are currently under treatment at the local health post, said SP Pokhrel.
