Viral fever patients up

Bajura, March 4

With the change in weather, viral fever patients have increased at Nuri of Budhinanda Municipality in Bajura.

Ward No 3 chairman Ram Bahadur Bohora said 120 persons are suffering from viral fever due to the cold. He said patients complained of headache, fever, cough, and loss of appetite, among others. Locals said almost all family members have fallen sick and there was no one to prepare food for them.

The patients are facing problems as Kolti Primary Health Centre is six hours walking distance from Nuri. “Patients cannot reach the health centre easily as it is a long distance away,” said Bohora. He added that the number of patients are increasing due to lack of treatment.

Meanwhile, Dr Ganesh Chaudhary at the primary health centre said information had reached the health centre about the viral fever in Nuri. He added a team of health workers, along with medicines, would be sent to the affected areas in coordination with the municipality. Health workers said viral fever patients were increasing in other places too due to the cold.
