KATHMANDU: Visiting Inter-Parliamentary Union President and Bangladesh MP, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, called on Speaker Onsari Gharti, in Kathmandu, on Monday.

During the meeting at the Speaker's Office, Singhadurbar, matters relating to bilateral concern and mutual interests were discussed, according to the Speaker's press advisor Babin Sharma.

The IPU President showed his concern over ongoing affairs in the Nepal's Legislature-Parliament and other contemporary affairs.

On the occasion, the Speaker, briefing the IPU President about Nepal's contemporary political affairs, stated that Nepal was holding the first-round of local-level election within a couple of days and this election would be significant in constitution implementation.

Recalling her visit to the Chittagong Port in Bangladesh in course of attending the IPU latest meeting, the Speaker insisted on the creation of situation for Nepal so that it could use the port.

On the occasion, she extended an invitation to the Bangladesh Speaker through MP Chowdhury for Nepal visit.
