Vote count resumes at PN Campus
Pokhara, March 30:
Counting of votes of the FSU election at Prithvi Narayan Campus resumed today. The counting is going at the building of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel are providing security at the venue. The counting was postponed 10 days ago.
Campus source said the counting process resumed after Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai requested campus chief Dr Devendra Bhattarai to resume the counting. The ANNISU-R has boycotted the counting process. It has been demanding re-election, alleging irregularity in counting.
Meanwhile, acting chairman of ANNFSU’s PN Campus unit Santosh Adhikari said his union withdrew all protests including Pokhara bandh. ANNFSU cadres had torched two government vehicles at Mahendrapool and Newroad last evening, demanding resumption of vote count.
ANNFSU’s Rasmi Acharya was leading the count with 1,330 votes followed by ANNISU-R’s Omraj Ale with 976 and NSU’sRam Prasad Adhikari with 340 votes.
