KATHMANDU, MARCH 7

Vote counting for the House of Representatives election has begun in Sankhuwasabha district.

According to Chief Election Officer Rajkumar Koirala, the counting started at 1:00 pm at the District Coordination Committee hall.

Ballots from Madi Municipality were counted first among the district's 10 local levels. The counting was initially scheduled to begin at 12:15 pm but was delayed.

The Office of the Chief Election Officer said the delay occurred after ballot boxes from the remote Thudam polling centre in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality arrived late.

The district has 165 polling centres, including one temporary centre, of which ballot boxes from 124 centres were transported by road to the counting venue.

Security arrangements including CCTV surveillance and barricaded perimeters have been set up at the counting centre, while the ballot boxes are being kept under tight security at the District Coordination Committee building.
