Vote counting concludes in Panchthar rural municipalities

PANCHTHAR: The vote counting of the second phase of local level elections held on June 28, have been concluded in all seven rural Municipalities of Panchthar district by Tuesday Morning.

The counting of votes as of now shows that Nepali Congress candidates have won the most, in four rural municipalities while CPN-UML in two while CPN Maoist Centre in only one.

Earlier this morning, CPN-UML candidate Lekhnath Ghimire has been elected the ward chief in the race. He has been elected with a difference of 235 votes against his closest competitor Sher Bahadur Nugo of Nepali Congress.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Kamala Kumari Yonghang has been elected the deputy ward chief defeating her contender Kalpana Guragain of NC with the difference of 157 votes.

Meanwhile, the counting of votes in Phidim Municipality is underway.
