DHANGADI, OCTOBER 23
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba said that it was necessary to elect candidate of the ruling alliance to protect the constitution and democracy.
Addressing Sudurpaschim-based party cadres gathering in Dhangadi today, Deuba said that he was very hopeful about victory of the alliance from Sudurpaschim.
He urged all to elect candidates from the alliance.
The PM said that the country was in a very critical situation and the election results would decide the future of the nation. "The alliance's victory is the need of the nation and the people," he claimed.
CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the main agenda of the alliance was to protect the constitution. He said that all the political, democratic changes were possible through the unity and understanding between the communists and democratic forces.
He accused the KP Oli led CPN- UML of not acting like a communist party. "We are fighting to protect democracy, constitution and federalism, while other forces are actively working to reinstate the monarchy," he said.
Similarly, CPN-US Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal said that all the regressive forces should be defeated in the upcoming elections.
Nepal also said the NC and Communists had forged alliance for the protection of democracy. "We are together and will move ahead accordingly irrespective of our ideological beliefs," he said.
Nepal claimed that they would win the elections and defeat the regressive forces. PM Deuba, Dahal, Nepal, senior NC leader Ramchandra Paudel were in Dhangadi to address a programme.
