Voter education programme begins in Khotang

With just few weeks remaining for the upcoming polls, voter education programme has begun in Khotang from today.

Voter education programme aims at educating voters of two municipalities and eight rural municipalities in the district about the correct techniques of casting votes and familiarising voters with ballot papers. District election officer Dinesh Khatri said the office organised a one-day training for 179 voter education activists and voter education volunteers yesterday and deployed them in villages from today. He said one voter education activist and a volunteer were deployed in each voting centre. “The volunteers have been deployed in villages with sample ballot papers, pamphlets and ink, among other poll related materials,” he said.

Social Worker at LGCD, volunteers at Woman Health and facilitators from Balbikash Kendra were deployed in rural areas for voter education programme after the training.
