Wanted criminal gang in Parsa police net

BIRGUNJ: Parsa police have claimed to have nabbed a "most wanted" criminal gang, based in India and spreading donation terror among entrepreneurs in Birgunj.

Thirty-year old Ashok Yadav aka Munna of Inarwa in Birgunj-19, 32-year old Bidesiya Shah Teli of Harpatgunj-3 and 34-year old Pramod Yadav aka Manish Singh of Parwanipur in Birgunj-19 were presented at a press meet held in District Police Office Parsa today. Three guns, a mobile set and two SIM cards are said to have been recovered from the gang.

SP Rajendra Man Shrestha said the gang was involved in the murder of Rajeshwor Dube, an employee of Pashupati Transport, on December 10. "This group, under the assumed name of Munna Yadav, has been involved in bomb blasts, extorting entrepreneurs and attacking them in case of denial," he added. "Their arrest is a remarkable achievement."

Ashok identified himself as Munna Yadav while threatening entrepreneurs over phone. According to police, the culprits were arrested from Motiyari of India and Inarwa of Birgunj on Sunday, on the basis of information provided by 21-year-old Shantosh Das Tatwa, who was held last week on the suspicion of his involvement in the murder of Dube.

SP Shrestha said the gang members thrived on terror tactics following their release from the Birgunj jail, where they were introduced to each other.

Bidesiya was released from prison six months ago, on completion of a three-year term for an arms-related offence. He is also accused of the blast at Rajhansa Ghee Industry and of murdering Manoj Agrawal. Ashok Yadav is said to have assisted Bidesiya in kidnapping a four-year-old from Holy Land School on July 29.
