Water, sanitation projects launched

Sanitation and drinking water projects have been launched in Panchthar, targeting settlements without easy access to drinking water.
Dhankuta-based Human Rights Social Awareness and Development Centre has commenced Drinking Water and Complete Sanitation Project for residents of Bharapa, Aansarang, Nangin and Chyangthapu village development committees.
The centre is said to have started project work from July. According to team leader of the project Parshuram Nepal, the fund board will provide Rs 12.572 million to run the projects in the four Village Development Committies.
A four-party contract was signed between Panchthar District Development Committee, the concerned VDCs, HUSADEC Nepal and Fund Board to launch the projects in the selected VDCs.
The projects, which will benefit around 19,000 residents, are expected to be completed within a year.
