WB positive on reform plan

Kathmandu, November 24:

The World Bank (WB) mission today discussed the appraisal document for Higher Education Project II (HEP II) with officials of the Ministry of Education and Sports. Saying that the WB mission was very positive about the HEP II appraisal, Laba Prasad Tripathee, spokesperson, Education Ministry, said: “They have suggested some reforms and amendment to the act for the Higher Education Project II.” If all goes well, the WB will provide $60 million grant to the government for carrying out reforms in higher education. The mission will hold discussions on the proposal with the Department of Education, Higher Secondary Education Board, Tribhuvan University among others.
