KATHMANDU: The Ministry of General Administration has decided to acquire updates from districts on government officials seeking voluntary retirement.

Some three weeks ago the government had come up with a voluntary retirement scheme for civil servants who are more than 50 years old and have served for more than 20 years, or those who are eligible for government pension.

“We had given 45 days for civil servants to apply for the voluntary retirement scheme and the offices of the district administration will collect applications and forward them to the ministry,” said Neupane. “As per our decision to acquire weekly update from DAOs, we expect the first such update after a week.”
