The Werribee Asia-Pacific Expo 2025 and Made in Nepal Promotion Event, organised by the Werribee Business and Tourism Association (WBTA), concluded this week with the official launch of a new book by Nepali author Dan Ghising.

The event, held at the Wyndham City Council premises under the theme "Innovation, Culture & Connection in Asia-Pacific," brought together government representatives, business leaders, academics and community figures from across the region.

The book, Power of Habits, was unveiled by MP Kathleen Mathews-Ward, who praised Ghising's work for its creative insight. The expo opened with remarks by councillorJennie Barrera and featured keynote addresses highlighting the growing importance of Asia-Pacific collaboration in trade, technology, culture and tourism.

Senior officials from Nepal, including Godawari Municipality Mayor Gajendra Maharjan and Kathekhola Rural Municipality Mayor Raju Thapa, also addressed the gathering.

A number of individuals were honoured for contributions in public service, education, technology and community leadership. Awardees included Councillors Jenny Barrera, Jasmine Hills, Larry Zhao and Chris Miles, along with several other prominent community members and professionals.

The expo also hosted a high-level panel discussion featuring experts from the University of Melbourne, Federation University and various international organisations. Discussions ranged from education and entrepreneurship to cultural diplomacy and emerging regional opportunities.

Cultural performances, B2B networking sessions, multicultural interactions and global market stalls added vibrancy to the event, which continued informally even after the official closing.

Event coordinator and author Dan Ghising thanked participants, noting that the expo has played a meaningful role in fostering economic, cultural, technological and community exchange between Nepal and Australia.
