KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 8

The Wilderness First Aid refresher course delivered by KEEP for World Expeditions (Australia) concluded on Sunday, February 5 in Kathmandu.

The closing ceremony was attended by Felicity Volk, Australian Ambassador to Nepal as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Sue Badyari Chief Executive Officer (WE), Sarah Higgins Operations Director (WE) and Uma Khaukerel Nepal Director (World Eco Expeditions) and Graham Kent (Aussie Action Abroad).

"KEEP has a long association with Australian donors and during this course the PAC Bag donated by Aussie Action Abroad and the Australian Embassy was inaugurated."said the statement issued by the KEEP.

As many as thirty two experienced guides from 'WE' attended the program to raise their professional skills and to familiarize themselves with the latest and revised first aid techniques in preparation for the spring 2023 season. KEEP is sincerely grateful to all concerned for supporting this program, according to the statement.

"With the new trekking season about to start and with the increase in the numbers of trekkers with higher expectations visiting Nepal it is critical that trekking staff are aware of all the latest techniques required to keep their clients safe and well informed."

KEEP provides a wide range of training options that can be delivered either in agency premises or in the KEEP training room in Thamel, as well as mountain clothing for hire from the KEEP Porter Clothing Center.
