JHAPA, APRIL 4
Nepali Congress Vice-president Bimalendra Nidhi today said that he would file his candidacy for the post of party president with the support of President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ramchandra Paudel in the party's 14th General Convention.
Speaking at a press meet organised by Nepal Press Union, Jhapa, in Birtamode, Nidhi argued that the reinstated House of Representatives had become unproductive and dysfunctional due to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
"PM Oli is doing everything possible to make the Parliament useless and dysfunctional,"
Nidhi added. He said PM Oli had lost his moral ground to stay in power after reinstatement of the Parliament.
Nidhi said that Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Centre and Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal should come together to form the new government. He asked party committees to speed up the distribution of active membership of the party.
He also added that if the 14th General Convention could not be held in five months, the party would lose its legitimacy.
