KATHMANDU: The Council of the County of Summit in the State of Ohio, USA, recognized remarkable achievements of Dinesh Sunar, a trailblazing parkour athlete from Khotang district, in the realm of parkour and gymnastics.
"Amidst a programme, Sunar's contributions to the world of parkour have been formally recognized by the Council of the County of Summit in the State of Ohio," said general secretary at Alpine Sports Association Sanjok Acharya.

Sunar has also been conferred with an honorary membership by the prestigious Alpine Sports Association, according to Acharya.
Sunar, a professional parkour and gymnast player from Nepal, has achieved the unimaginable. With 21 Guinness World Records under his belt, he has proven that hard work, diligence, and a never-giving-up attitude can take you from the sands of a remote village to the world stage.
Born in a small village in Khotang, Nepal, Dinesh faced numerous challenges, including discrimination and lack of resources. However, he found inspiration in Bruce Lee, Tony Jaa, and Jackie Chan, and began practicing stunts and parkour at a young age.

Dinesh's journey took him from performing at local events to representing Nepal in international competitions. He has won numerous awards, including three national gold medals in gymnastics, and has already been recognized by the City of Akron, Ohio, and the State of Ohio for his achievements.
Despite facing criticism and doubt, Dinesh persevered and continued to push himself. He has been inspired by parkour legends like David Belle and Pasha Petkuns, and hopes to meet them one day.

Dinesh's ultimate dream is to be featured on Netflix and build a parkour academy in Nepal. He also aims to promote parkour globally and strengthen the relationship between the USA and Nepal through the sport.
