Bajura, November 2

A woman died after giving birth to a baby at Chhatara Health Post of Triveni Municipality, Bajura, today.

Rejiya Nepali, 37, of Chhatara Bishal Bazaar breathed her last six hours after she delivered the baby at the health facility.

Auxiliary Nursing Wife Sumitra Padhyay at the health post had admitted Nepali at the health post at 11am yesterday. Nepali had delivered the baby two minutes later.

She had delivered the child before she could be taken inside the parturition ward.

Her health condition was good till 4:30am today, but she collapsed and died in the evening all of a sudden.

The health post said that Nepali had taken a glass of milk and some biscuits and she had also breast-fed the child.

But half an hour later, she died all of sudden. Triveni Health Post Coordinator Chiranjivi Sah said Nepali might have died due to lack of blood. “But, we cannot say exactly what led to Nepali’s sudden death,” Sah said.

The child is alive.

Nepali was not referred elsewhere as she had not developed any complications after she delivered the child normally, said a source at the health post.
