RATNANAGAR:  A woman lost her grip and drowned in a local river in Khairahani Municipality-13 in Chitwan district on Wednesday morning.

A local resident Kanali Mahato (30) had gone to the river to collect ghungi (shell-snail) when the incident occurred, the District Police Office said.

The body has been sent to Bharatpur Hospital for a postmortem, police said.
