Woman electrocuted
Jhapa, March 31
A woman was electrocuted after she happened to touch a naked cable laid around her house to chase away wild tuskers in Haldibari Rural Municipality, Jhapa, today.
The deceased has been identified as ChhabimayaKhadka, 60. Assistant sub-inspector Sunil Chaudhary at Badawari Police Post said Chhabimaya was electrocuted when her husband Tek Bahadur was away from home.
The woman died after she touched the naked wire. Chhabimaya died on the spot. Reports say they used to switch on the current at night and switch it off in the morning. Police said the woman received the shock as they had forgotten to switch off the current. The body has been kept at Mechi Zonal Hospital Bhadrapur for postmortem.
