Woman hired hitman to murder her husband

It has come to light that a woman had hired a hitman to kill her husband at Tilottama of Rupandehi a week ago.
Body of 45-year-old Padam Thapa was found in his bed on January 18.
After preliminary investigation, police came up with the evidence that 39-year-old Renu Thapa had hired a hitman to kill her husband.
Renu had paid Padam’s friend Bikram Tharu alias Sanjay of Tilottama-16 Rs 80,000 for the murder.
Police made public Renu and Bikram as the murder convicts at a press meet in Area Police Office, Butwal, today.
Renu was held from her house few days ago whereas Bikram was held from his house yesterday. Renu in her statement to the police admitted that she had sought Bikram’s help to murder her husband.
She said her husband used to abuse her physically and mentally under the influence of alcohol.
According to DSP Mahendra Khadka of Area Police Office Butwal, Renu had also promised Bikram additional payment after the murder. Bikram is an ex-Maoist combatant.
He was released a year ago after serving three years in jail for arms trading.
DSP Khadka said a murder case has been filed against the two.
