PARSA: A woman was killed in an elephant attack in Parsa district last night.

The District Police Office, Parsa confirmed the death of Rajina Waiba (23) of Nuwakot district in the incident.

An elephant from the Parsa Wildlife Reserve attacked the woman to death while she was returning to her room from an eatery house in Thori Rural Municipality -3 where she was a worker.

More than five people in average are killed in wild elephant attack every year in Thori.

The wild pachyderms inhabiting the reserve roam about the place in search for food at night, police said.
