BUTWAL: A woman was found murdered in her rented house at Kalikanagar of Butwal in Rupandehi district, police said.

The victim, identified as Kamala Neupane of Tilottama Municipality-13, had been residing in the house along with her family for the past seven years.

She was alone in the house when she was murdered yesterday evening, according to police. Her husband had gone to Kathmandu where two of their children reside for their studies.

Police said preliminary investigation showed she was involved in illegal dhukuti transactions, while her husband is a wholesale dealer of shoes in Butwal.
