A 72-year-old woman was fed human faeces and thrashed mercilessly on the charge of practising witchcraft in Gaunthale of Siddalek Rural Municipality, Dhading district.

According to the victim’s family members, the woman was fed human excreta and thrashed on Thursday.

Harka Bahadur Pulami, 45, Khol Bahadur Pulami, 63, Tham Bahadur Magar, 55 and Dhan Bahadur Magar of Nepali Army stationed at Rajdal Gan under Eastern Division were involved in the heinous crime. The woman was thrashed on the basis of the allegation that she had tried to eat one of the soldier’s heart.

Three shamans were called later on. They too said she was a witch. The shamans also fed her human excreta and thrashed her.

Police have arrested all four torturing the woman physically and mentally. The victim’s name has been kept secret. The arrested have been kept in police custody and an investigation has been launched.

The injured woman has been sent to Star Hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment after primary treatment in Dhading District Hospital.
